Amsterdam giants Ajax have signed highly rated Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus from Danish SuperLiga side Nordsjaelland.
Dutch outlet De Telegraaf reports that Ajax paid the Danish side a fee of €9 million + bonuses to secure his rights.
Kudus established himself as a rising star last season – scoring 9 times. The winger is 1.75m (5’9″) tall and is known for his pace and agility. He was nominated for the Golden Boy award last month.
Kudus will help fill the Hakim Ziyech sized hole in their squad, who left for Chelsea for a fee of €45 million.
He arrived in Denmark in 2018 aged 17 from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana along with compatriots Ibrahim Sadiq and Gideon Mensah.
Ajax initially hoped to be able to attract Kudus for cheaper, but competition from the likes of Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach increased his price tag.
