Egyptian Premier League champions Al Ahly have announced the signing of Wadi Degla defender Ahmed Ramadan Beckham on a five-year deal.
The 23-year-old centre-back played a crucial part in Egypt’s winning of the U23 AFCON on home soil last year, and has since impressed enough with his club to earn a move to one of Africa’s largest clubs.
Beckham is a product of the Al Ahly academy. He first left the club to move to Haras El Hodood on loan in 2015 before a successful loan at Wadi Degla.
On January 1 2019 Beckham moved to Wadi Degla on a permanent basis for a reported fee of $220,000 USD.
Beckham featured in 30 games with Wadi Degla last season and was one of their standout performers.
On his move to the Red Devils, Ramadan said: “Al Ahly is my home and it has been my club since I was a kid.”
Al Ahly will face Zamalek on Friday 27 November in the CAF Champions League final.
When asked about his expectations for the match, Beckham said “It is very hard to expect the winner. Al Ahly and Zamalek are big teams and both teams have a chance to win the title.”
