Belgian giants Anderlecht have confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau on a season long loan.
The 26-year-old joins the club on loan from English Premier League sidee Brighton Hove & Albion. Due to work permit issues he has been loaned out to Belgian sides for the last two seasons with Union Saint-Gilliose (2018/19) and Club Brugge (2019/20).
Tau won the Belgian League’s Player of the Season award with Union SG before winning the League with Brugge last season.
“Percy is a player who already knows our capital and league,” Anderlecht sporting director Peter Verboke told the club website.
“He is a creative, technically strong, fast and agile player, he can play in various attacking positions. In addition, he has already demonstrated that he can be efficient and decisive. Due to lack of preparation we just have to give him some time to be important for us, but we are of course happy with his added value to the club.”
He will play under the management of Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany, who left England to conclude his playing career and begin coaching.
The Bafana star recorded 3 goals and 4 assists in the league last season.
