African sports journalist for more than 20 years – African sports lover since I can first remember. A passion that has come from a life-time of living, working and holidaying on the continent. My family-life has taken-in living in Ethiopia, Zaire (now DR Congo), Somalia and Uganda. Took my first steps as a journalist in Uganda on radio and with a newspaper that led to a post-graduate course at City University in London to study broadcast journalism. After that there was a brief return to live and work in Uganda. Since 2003 I have been working for the BBC World Service on the African Sports team during which time I have been to 2 world Cups, 5 Men’s Africa Cup of Nations, 2 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, an African Nations Championship, a Champions League final, an Afrobasket, a World Athletics Championships and a Para World Athletics Championships.
