Zimbabwe forward Khama Billiat has been urged to leave Kaizer Chiefs and return to Mamelodi Sundowns after seeing his career dramatically stall.
Billiat is widely considered as one of the finest playmakers based in Africa but since leaving Sundowns, where he lifted every title on offer in South African football – he’s yet to lift silverware again.
Currently, in the prime of his career, Billiat endured one of the worst seasons of his career with just three goals as Chiefs fell to the Brazilians in the final 22 minutes of the 2019/20 season for the PSL title.
And now his compatriot has urged him to consider returning to Pitso Mosimane’s outfit where the former Ajax Cape Town man developed into one of the most sought-after talents on the continent.
“After all has been said and done, I believe Khama Billiat should go back to Mamelodi Sundowns,” former Zimbabwe midfielder Alois Bunjira said, as per KickOff.com.
“Pitso Mosimane loves Khama, he has publicly said it many times. He shows it. Sundowns play the kind of football that Khama fits into very well.
He continued: “Patrice Motsepe admires the young man, the Sundowns fans love Khama, they treated him well and showered him with all the real love.
“We all know what a great player Khama is and he needs a team where he can express himself and thrive. Sundowns are the perfect fit. The hatchet should be buried if there was ever any hatchet. Zimbabwe needs a firing Khama. Come back home to Sundowns Khama.”
