FC Barcelona have completed the signing of 18-year-old Cameroonian central defensive midfielder Franck Angong.
Angong arrives from Iniesta’s Vissel Kobe after being spotted by former Barca midfielder Albert Benaiges, who took him to Japan from Cibao FC, a club in the Dominican Republic.
Iniesta reportedly recommended the player to Barcelona, and after impressing at a trial, he will join their Juvenil A side.
Angong is the second signing for the Juvenil A side after they lured the highly rated Fabian Luzzi from Rayo Vallecano.
Franck came to Japan alongside his footballing brother Francky, who has joined La Liga side Levante.
Diario Sport report that Angong will challenge with midfielder Alex Rico for his preferred starting defensive midfield position.
