The Court of Arbitration for Sport have rejected Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca’s appeal against CAF and Esperance de Tunis.
The case was over the controversial 2019 CAFCL Final, which saw the second leg abandoned after Wydad refused to resume play after a stoppage in the second half following a VAR mishap.
CAF ruled that Wydad forfeited and declared Esperance champions of the elite continental competition.
CAF also fined the Moroccan side $35,000 USD.
Nearly a year ago Wydad took the case for appeals at CAS, but today the court have rejected the appeal.
Esperance have been confirmed as the 2019 CAFCL champions.
