It was expected, it is now known: the National Football League will start for its 26th edition.
Bosco Mwehu Beya, chairman of the League’s Coordination Committee, confirmed the news during an interview with the Chinese channel Top Congo on Thursday.
As expected, the championship will kick off during the last week of September.
“The date of September 25 has been chosen to allow our athletes to be ready for continental competitions” confirmed Bosco Mwehu.
The decision to launch the 2020-2021 season is therefore explained by the need to put the players in tune before the deadlines in Africa (CHAN and Interclub Cups). “In view of the current challenges: our clubs must take part in the African Interclub Cups and in CHAN with the National Team, while respecting the measures.”
See you soon for the big comeback of football on Congolese lawns!
