Details: Arsenal sign Thomas Partey

Arsenal have completed the signing of Ghana star Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid on deadline day for a fee of £50m.

Arsenal triggered the £50m release clause today after spending months trying to negotiate a cheaper deal to no avail.

Partey, 27, will join the London side on a four-year-deal. He will earn just above £200k per week pre tax, including incentives.

Arsenal and Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira will go the other way on a loan.

Partey’s pricetag makes him the seventh most expensive transfer of an African player. Click through the gallery below to see the top 10 most expensive transfers of African players before Partey moved to Arsenal.
