Nigerian-English midfielder Ovie Ejaria has left Liverpool on a transfer.
The 22-year-old had been at Liverpool since joining from the Arsenal academy in 2014.
Ejaria, a central attacking midfielder, spent the past three seasons on loan at Sunderland, Rangers and Reading.
Reading who play in the EFL Championship, had loaned him from Liverpool for the past 1.5 seasons but finally purchased him today.
The Berkshire club paid Liverpool a €3.9m fee, signing him on a four-year deal.
“Ovie has shown his exceptional quality whilst here,” Reading boss Mark Bowen said.
“I’m sure all our supporters are excited to see him continue to impress as a Royal during the course of the next four years.”
Although eligible for Nigeria, Ejaria has represented the English U21 side in 2018 but has not represented them at any level since.
In December 2019 Nigeria national team coach Gernot Rohr urged the Nigeria Football Federation to get Ejaria to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
Ejaria has made 54 appearances for Reading already.
