Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan will earn $200,000 USD per month at Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC, AFHQ has been reliably informed.
Gyan, 34, has been without a club since January. He has agreed deal with the Legon-based club after Asante Kotoko failed to meet his demands.
As part of the deal, Gyan has asked the Ghana Premier League side to sign teenage sensation Mathew Anim Cudjoe from Asante Kotoko.
Cudjoe, 16, broke onto the scene last season after advancing to the senior team. He did trials at defending German and European champions Bayern Munich.
There are reports close to the club stating that Cudjoe will join Legon on a loan deal after returning from international duty with the Ghana U20s.
Gyan returns to the local Ghanaian game 17 years after leaving Liberty Professionals.
He went on to play in Serie A and in the English Premier League with Sunderland and dominated the United Arab Emirates local league. With Al Ain, he won the league’s golden boot three times.
Gyan scored 51 goals for the Black Stars. The move shows a huge display of ambition from Legon Cities.
