After Sundowns’ exit to Al Ahly, they’ve acted swiftly to secure one of the most highly-rated midfielders in South African football.
The South African footballing world was sent into shock today when Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that midfielder George Maluleka has decided to leave the club at the end of the 2019/20 season.

Chiefs revealed in a statement:
“The contract talks between Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder George ‘Mido’ Maluleka have reached an unexpected ending.
Kaizer Chiefs offered the 31-year-old a two-year contract extension + one-year option to renew on his current contract, but he turned it down.
Following a string of negotiations, the player himself revealed to the Club that he has signed a pre-contract with Mamelodi Sundowns.”
The former SuperSport United Star spent six-and-a-half years at Kaizer Chiefs, but will now embark on a new journey.
Maluleka will join Pitso Mosimane’s side ahead of the 2020/21 season.
