Just one day after winning the Absa Premiership for the second time in a row and a record 10th time, Mamelodi Sundowns are already making moves in the transfer market to improve their squad for next season.
It’s all but finalized that Highlands Park duo Peter Shalulile and Mothobi Mvala will move to Sundowns, according to Highlands Park CEO Brad Kaftel.
Namimbian striker Peter Shalulile, 27, won the league’s top scorer award (along with Mhango) with 16 goals, continuing his good form for the Johannesburg club since joining in 2015 from Namibian side Tura Magic.
Kaftel recently slapped a R30-million ($1.75m) valuation on the shoulders of the striker who starred for his country at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but it seems like Sundowns have given an offer that exceeded his expectations.
South African midfielder Mothobi Mvala, 26, will follow Shalulile to Masandawana. It appears that Mvala will be poised to replace club captain Kekana in central midfield.
Kaftel revealed on the club website: “I’m waiting for them, but ja, it looks like they are signing them. Peter Shalulile is a Golden Boot winner and they are signing Mothobi Mvala.”
