Fresh after earning a nomination for the English Premier League Player of the Season, Liverpool and Senegal star Sadio Mane has made a huge admission over his Liverpool career.
The 28-year-old forward helped Reds win the UEFA Champions League last season before ending Liverpool’s Premier League title drought this season.
Since arriving at Anfield in 2016 from Southampton, Mane has won four trophies with the Merseyside outfit and he’s now expressed the intention to help Jurgen Klopp’s side achieve domestic and continental glory again.
“I always really wanted to win both although when I won Champions League then, I really wanted to win Premier League,” he said to Anfield Buzz.
“Now, I’ve won the Champions League and Premier League, I want to win both of them again for sure.”
The Senegalese sensation came close to winning the Champions League in 2018 but lost to Real Madrid.
He scored Liverpool’s equalising goal in his side’s 3-1 defeat to their Spanish rivals, becoming the first Senegalese player to score more than 10 goals in a single Champions League season.
Overall, Mane has notched over 60 goals for Liverpool, twice the amount he scored for Southampton, Salzburg and Metz combined.
He also finished as joint top scorer in the English top-flight in the 2018/19 season alongside teammate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
With Klopp set to strengthen his side ahead of their league title defence next season, Mane could see his ambition become reality.
