Ndidi to miss Leicester and Nigeria matches with injury

Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is one of the most exciting talents hailing from Nigeria, but Nigerians won’t get to see him play for his country next month after the midfielder pulled out of the squad with an injury.

The 23-year-old aggravated an already-existing groin injury, putting him out of action for Leicester’s Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal today.

Ndidi filled in at center back for the Foxes’ first two games of the new Premier League season, but Brendan Rodgers will have to look elsewhere to play in their depleted defence.

The holding midfielder has been managing the injury since the start of the season and has been advised by the Leicester City medical staff to take a break.

Ndidi will undergo further tests on Wednesday before his return to action can be determined.

Unfortunately for Super Eagles fans he will not be apart of the action when Nigeria takes on the Ivory Coast and Tunisia in friendlies next month after he pulled out of the squad.
