Odey poised for Genk loan after Dessers arrival

EA Guingamp have opened talks with Jupiler Pro League side Genk over the signature of young Nigerian forward, Stephen Odey on a one-year loan deal, according to reports in Belgium.

The Nigerian has missed all of Genk’s three senior outings this season and is now set for a move to France.

The Former MFM of Lagos striker is behind Cyriel Dessers and Paul Onuachu in the pecking order and is in serious search of game time regularly to boost his national team opportunities.

Odey joined Genk last season from Swiss side FC Zurich for an estimated €3.5-million but has struggled to make an impact which caught the eye of the Belgian club during his time in Switzerland.

He has played 201 senior minutes for the Belgian outfit since joining with one Champions League goal against Liverpool to show.

The Nigerian will join the likes of Lebogang Phiri ©️ (South Africa), Felix Eboa Eboa (Cameroon), Yousouf M’Changama (Comoros), Yanick Gomis (Senegal) and Yeni N’gbakoto (DRC) should the move materialise.
