Nigerian star Victor Osimhen has sealed a move from French side Lille to Italian giants Napoli for a reported fee of €50m + bonuses.
Osimhen, 21, has been on the radar of a number of clubs from Europe this season after a brilliant performance – scoring 18 goals and assisting 6 in his 38 games this season.
His superb performance also saw him clinch Lille’s Player Of The Season award and the Marc-Vivien Foé Prize for the best African player in the French Ligue 1 for the 2019-2020 season.
This transfer means Lille will have made an absurd amount of profit off the Nigerian in just one year. They signed Osimhen from Belgium’s RSC Charleroi for €14m, and sold him a year later for €50m.
Osimhen will reportedly earn €4.5m per year for his five-year contract.

This had led Osimhen to get in contact with Senegalese teammate Kalidou Koulibaly to listen to him first-hand on the racism in Serie A. In his role, Koulibaly gave the rising star his advice on what should be done prior to the move.
It is believed that Napoli’s coach, Gennaro Gattuso is a fan of the Super Eagles striker and had been following him for a while. Moreover, Gattuso is reportedly taking a pay cut to secure Osimhen’s services.
