Rangers to swoop Bafana star on loan

Scottish giants Rangers are set to complete the loan signing of Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu on deadline day.

According to French source L’EQUIPE, the former Victoria de Guimaraes central midfielder is likely to leave Amiens on deadline day to his long time Suitors Rangers.

It was earlier reported that the 27-year old had a medical with the SPFL giants but the move fell through after he was deemed overweight.

There has been a turn around from the Rangers board, however, as they have reportedly tabled another bid for Zungu.

The two clubs are now close to agreeing terms on a loan deal and Zungu will get to play in one of Europe’s biggest leagues should the move occur.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star featured for 82 minutes in Sunday’s away defeat against Caen and are currently sitting 17th with 5 points from 6 games this season.
