Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has said his goodbyes and will be jetting out of South Africa immediately after their MTN8 semi-final first leg victory over arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
The German tactician, 50, reportedly headed straight to the airport after leading his side to a 3-0 victory over rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
Pirates have stated that he will return.
Zinnbauer joined Pirates back in December as a successor to former assistant and interim coach Rhulani Mokwena. The former Hamburger coach left after just 22 matches. He recorded 12 wins, seven draws and three defeats.
Please understand, it’s family that’s very, very close to me and me and the family, we speak about it not in the official [way], I’m sorry about this. I hope you understand it,” said Zinnbauer in his post-match press conference.
